Location

The engine-bay fuse and relay box is on the driver's side of the engine compartment, next to the battery and in front of the strut tower. Press the two side tabs on the black lid and lift it off; the layout diagram is moulded into the underside of the lid.

The XA30 was sold with 2.0 and 2.4/2.5 petrol engines and 2.2 D-4D diesels; the 3.5 V6 (North America) has a 40 A radiator fan fuse instead of 30 A. The large bolted fusible links (ALT, ABS) require a 10 mm socket and the battery to be disconnected. Keep the lid seal clean, as water in this box is a common cause of corroded relay pins. Fuse assignment varies by equipment level and production year. Always confirm with the label on the fuse box cover or the owner's manual.
